What the Gangnam Style AI trend is
It is not the horse dance. On 5 October 2026 three friends filmed a selfie at night in Gangnam, Seoul: the phone starts on all three of them singing "Gangnam Style", whips to each one for a close-up (a pout, a hair flip, hands in the hair), and ends on the three of them laughing under the Korean flags. That clip by @emiliyyam reached 18.7 million plays by 25 October.
From 12 October people began remaking it with AI, swapping the three friends for anyone: Harry, Ron and Hermione at Hogwarts, Gandalf, Frodo and Aragorn, actors in suits, their own friends and their dogs. A Russian tutorial for it passed 3.2 million plays, and Gangnam Style AI effect and CapCut template videos are spreading in Arabic, Burmese, Russian, Vietnamese and Spanish.
Gangnam Style AI effect, CapCut template or a full remake?
There are three ways people make it. A Gangnam Style AI effect or CapCut template swaps your face onto a fixed clip in an app; it is quick, but the friends are often strangers and faces can slip.
